Cheltenham 2017 Day Three Tips
I’m opposing Yorkhill, he’s been odds on and has won but hasn’t done so convincingly in my eyes. I’d rather take a shot with Top Notch, who has won four on the spin including a Grade 1 last time out impressively. He’s the classiest horse in the field in my opinion.
13:30 Cheltenham – Top Notch – 10/3 with Sky Bet (Money Back loser)
This race looks trappy but I’m going with 11/1 shot Tobefair. He’s up seven pounds here but he’s won seven in a row. He’s gone up some sixty pounds since changing yards (and when he started winning) and I believe it’s worth a go at that price to back him to win again.
14:10 Cheltenham – Tobefair – 11/1 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
Un De Sceaux is a horse that has made me quite a few quid in the past and I can’t look past him here. Empire of Dirt is the main danger but I think that UDS has the leading claims on his 2m chase form. He’s a course and distance winner and I think he’ll put the smile back on Willie Mullins’ face.
14:50 Cheltenham – Un De Sceaux – 5/2 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
I can’t back Unowhatimeanharry at that price. He’s top class and may well win but I think there’s value in the 6/1 about Jezki. He was beaten last time out but that forgiven (the ground was heavy) I think he’s got a great chance. He showed he could do it over this trip at Punchestown and is seven pounds lower than his last outing.
15:30 Cheltenham – Jezki – 6/1 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
Village Vic did really well in handicaps at Cheltenham over the winter and I fancy him to hit the frame at least. You can get five places with Paddy Power and the horse that beat him last time out went on to finish second in a Grade 1 at odds of 22/1.
16:10 Cheltenham – Village Vic – 16/1 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
Airlie Beach is a big price for me for an unbeaten horse. The other Mullins horse, Let’s Dance, looks a big danger. I’m going with a value pick in Airlie Beach who won a Grade 1 last time out and steps down to Grade 2 company.
16:50 Cheltenham – Airlie Beach – 4/1 with Sky Bet
Whats Happening has won twice from two outings at Cheltenham and won well last time out after coming back from a break. If the bounce factor doesn’t affect him, he’ll go close for sure.
17:30 Cheltenham – Whats Happening – 16/1 with Paddy Power
