17:00 Ascot – Banksea (BEST ODDS 9/2 with Betfair)
Banksea is back down to a level where he will rightly justify favouritism. He wasn’t the best last time out, but even the classiest horse can be forgiven for not running well at Royal Ascot. It is a massive plus that the top class jockey Ryan Moore will be on board for this one. Luca Cumani, the horse’s trainer, has had a massive 38% strike rate over the past fortnight. This is definitely another positive for this horse and those backing him. He’s a distance winner, so he should have no problem with the mile trip. He has never run on good to soft ground before, so if the ground stays that way it’ll be interesting to see how he fares. There are only two horses in the field that have won on the going, so the same can be said for a lot of the horses here. This is a big step down in class for Banksea and I’m backing him to improve from that Royal Ascot run here.
