Cheltenham 2017 Day Two Tips
Neon Wolf is a worthy favourite. He’s unbeaten and maintained his stellar record with a fantastic win in a Grade 2 last time out. Back him with Sky Bet so if he comes second you’ll get your money back as a free bet.
13:30 Cheltenham – Neon Wolf – 15/8 with Sky Bet (Money Back 2nd)
Whisper is another horse that had a Grade 2 success last time out and I think he’s a big price. He is a course and distance winner, I’ve included him in an each-way double as I’m confident he’ll at least hit the frame.
14:10 Cheltenham – Whisper – 13/2 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
I’m very happy adding Peregrine run to my each-way double. 10/1 is a big price for currently a joint second favourite and Paddy Power are paying six places. He’s only four pounds higher than his last win (in a Grade 2) that came back in November and this is a Grade 3 race.
14:50 Cheltenham – Peregrine Run – 10/1 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
This is a no bet race for me. Sit back and watch Douvan strut his stuff.
Cantlow looks a small price for such a big field but I’m backing him outright and I’m confident that he’ll be a winner for jockey Mark Walsh. He was 2nd on Trials Day, has won over course and distance and looks a cut above the rest for me.
16:10 Cheltenham – Cantlow – 11/4 with Paddy Power (Money Back 2nd)
The ability to forgive is an admirable trait to have in life and in horse racing. This horse’s only defeat in four runs was because of a blunder but won well last time out and is top rated on RPR ratings.
16:50 Cheltenham – Domperignon Du Lys – 10/1 with Sky Bet
Western Ryder has only finished in the top two in his career and he’s the perfect pick for an each-way double. He was top class when 2nd in a Listed race last time out when giving tons of weight to the eventual winner but wasn’t disgraced.
17:30 Cheltenham – Western Ryder – 10/1 with Sky Bet
£20 single on Neon Wolf (13:30)
£20 single on Cantlow (16:10)
£10 each way double on Whisper (14:10) and Peregrine Run (14:50)
£10 each way double on Domperignon Du Lys (16:50) and Western Ryder (17:30)
