14:30 Ascot – Daban (BEST ODDS 7/1 with William Hill)
Daban should go well back up in trip here today. He was far from disgraced in the Guineas and that form has been well franked anyway. He’s got a top class jockey and trainer on his side in Atenzi and Gosden, he’s also a distance winner.
15:05 Ascot – Chica La Habana (BEST ODDS 16/1 with Paddy Power)
I was surprised to see this horse available at such a big price considering that the jockey booking of Jim Crowley did make me raise my eyebrows as I looked through the card. He’s a distance winner with a vert good debut win under his belt. Paddy Power are playing four places.
15:40 Ascot – Quemah (BEST ODDS 3/1 with William Hill)
Quemah is a course and distance winner who won the Coronation Stakes last year, so is a horse that knows what it takes to win big races. He can be excused for failing to win last time out as he still went close after being bumped and losing momentum.
16:20 Ascot – Jack Hobbs (BEST ODDS 10/3 with Paddy Power)
Jack Hobbs managed a career best last time out at Meydan, which is the best form on offer in this race by a country mile. It’ll take some doing to repeat that form, but he’s such a classy type that I wouldn’t put it past him at all.
17:00 Ascot – Fastnet Tempest (BEST ODDS 10/1 with bet365)
Bet365 are paying out a massive five places in this race and I really like the look of Fastnet Tempest. He’s a course and distance winner who has won his last two. I’d go each way with this one as he should be there or thereabouts if his timing is right.
17:35 Ascot – Gymnaste (BEST ODDS 7/1 with bet365)
Bet365 are also paying five places in the last race of the day as well. After a maiden win, there are excuses that can be made for a poorer run last time out. His trainer had a good first day at Royal Ascot and I expect that form to continue today.
