15:35 York – Churchill (BEST ODDS 10/3 with bet365)
This year’s renewal of the Juddmonte International Stakes looks an absolute cracker. I definitely think that the winner is highly likely to come from the first three in the betting. I can’t look beyond Churchill for this one. Yes, he was disappointing last time out, but every horse can be forgiven a bad day at the office (with Frankel being the only exception to that rule). I like to back horses that are doing something different than what they are used to. This horse is taking a step up in trip today and my thinking is that he’s going to improve for it. It would be easy to let that poor Ascot run make us forget that he’s a dual Guineas winner. He’s a 3-year-old that notched up seven straight wins. He should have no problems with the going. He’s also got a trainer and jockey in his corner that win Group 1s for fun. This won’t be easy, but I think he’s the classiest pick of a very good bunch indeed.
